TOUR ROUTE
Route options are not guaranteed. Obviously, kayaking is susceptible to wind, weather and other factors our guides take into consideration when planning tour routes. Nature-willing, we generally visit the following amazing destinations on this tour. We stay at each camp site for 1 – 2 nights, depending on weather, currents and your group’s needs and desires. During our stay on these islands, we will be able to paddle and explore the amazing things every location has to offer. To start your multi-day tour, we will meet at our Adventure Centre and your private kayak tour guide will go over the finer points of expedition kayaking: paddle technique, boat safety, proper packing of a kayak, etc. before launching from the harbour or other launch site.
Day 1: Salt Spring Island to Portland Island with Lunch on Russell
We will launch our packed boats from Isabella Point beach on the south end of salt Spring Island, paddle out of Fulford harbour to beautiful to the small idilic Russell Island. Russell Island is part of the Gulf Islands National Park system and is only assessable by kayak or small boat. We will stop here for lunch and stole around beautiful trails observing its natural features and historic sites. After, we will carry on out to Portland Island and set up base camp, which we will call home for the next two nights. We will then proceed to enjoy a glass of local wine and dinner while watching the sunset over the protected coves, and talk of the discoveries we will make paddling around Moresby Island on day two.
Day 2: Day Trip Around Moresby Island
On day two we will paddle out to Moresby Island. We will have a look at the charts and predict our winds / currents over a serious cup (or three) of Salt Spring organic coffee, and then head out to do some exploring. Meandering through the picturesque coast line we will spend our day touring around Moresby watching out for wildlife and telling stories before heading back to our camp on Portland.
Day 3: Portland to Salt Spring
Slowly wake up for our last morning in paradise and take time exploring Portland’s walking trails. After lunch, we will paddle back to Isabella Point on Salt Spring Island for goodbyes and final photos on the beach.
